Webinar: 'Celebrating Mrs Eleanor Coade'

23 February 2022

On 18th November 1821, Mrs Eleanor Coade departed this life, one of the great entrepreneurs of the Georgian era and the first woman to brand a nationally known product with her own name. Two hundred years later, Coade’s legacy of eponymous architectural stoneware lives on, as appreciated and sought after as it was in her own lifetime. This talk celebrates Coade’s life and achievements and also examine hitherto unscrutinised evidence of how she became Britain’s first nationally successful female businesswoman.
