Current volunteering opportunities
We are currently seeking help with the following tasks:
We are looking for a volunteer to help in our Business Operations team to help assess our water bills for a week. It involves evaluating our current water bills, looking at water and sewage volumes, water usage and comparing water usage between different sized buildings. The ultimate outcome is to see whether we should stay with water rates or move to water meters at our properties. Sound like something you would like to do? Email us if you’re interested.

Volunteers for Crownhill Fort

•Conservation work including painting, site management and refurbishment of historic timber, stonework and weaponry. A group of volunteers meet every Tuesday between 10am and 2pm, volunteers can also be accommodated on other weekdays.
• Curatorial work in the museum displays. This includes cataloguing, collection management and stewarding.
• Help with open days, school visits and private tours. Volunteers greet our visitors as they arrive, interact with them in and around the site, curate exhibitions and run stalls with Landmark Trust merchandise
If you live locally and think you might be able to help please do get in touch via email.
Volunteers needed to help man Belmont Information Rooms
There is an information display about the history of Belmont and its past residents in the stables on the site (the house is not accessible). The stable opens from 2pm-5pm each Friday from 1 April to 31 October (providing volunteer cover is available).
We are very lucky to already have a small group of volunteers but we need more memebers of the team to help cover all Fridays throughout the season. Perhaps you are a student coming home for the summer and would like to add some volunteer hours to your CV which relate to History and Architecture or perhaps you are local and interested in sharing the story of Belmont with others. We would be delighted to have you in the team so do please email your interest via email.
PLEASE NOTE: Even if you have already registered with us to volunteer, you still need to apply for volunteer vacancies as they appear if you are interested. (We are a small team and cannot follow up with individuals about specific openings). If you have signed up for the monthly Volunteer Email this will alert you to any new volunteer positions posted on the website. Thank you.
