Volunteering with Landmark

We welcome committed volunteers to help with any aspect of our work. Regular volunteering and occasional internships will be based at our Shottesbrooke office in Berkshire. There are occasional volunteer possibilities based locally around an individual Landmark or event and in such cases we will post them here.

Current volunteering opportunities

Himalayan Balsam Clearance, Knowle Hill, Derbyshire

We will be continuing with our programme of work to tackle the Himalayan Balsam invasion in the valley at Knowle Hill. Please email [email protected] for more information.

Garden Maintenance at Astley Castle, Warwickshire

Our ongoing maintenance of the moat, knot garden and shrubbery requires volunteers. This includes a range of tasks including weeding, slashing nettles, trimming overhanging trees and clearing deadwood from access paths.

A tour guide for open days and school visits held throughout the year.

Goddards Volunteer Gardener

We are looking for a green fingered volunteer to work alongside the gardener to maintain the Landmark Trust’s Goddards’ garden at Abinger Common which was designed in 1900 by Gertrude Jekyll in association with Edwin Lutyens.

1 or 2 mornings a week (Monday and/or Friday)

To assist with:
•  General maintenance of flower beds
•  Dividing plants and taking cuttings
•  Watering, weeding, pruning and planting as needed
•  Clearing leaves and edging lawns and paths
