Volunteering with Landmark

We welcome committed volunteers to help with any aspect of our work. Regular volunteering and occasional internships will be based at our Shottesbrooke office in Berkshire. There are occasional volunteer possibilities based locally around an individual Landmark or event and in such cases we will post them here.

If you are interested in registering as a volunteer, please download a volunteer registration form, fill it in and post it back to us or return it as a signed document by email to volunteers@landmarktrust.org.uk

Lundy also has its own volunteer programme assisting with the islands ongoing conservation management or helping with the day to day running. Find out more take a look at their dedicated webpages by clicking here

Current volunteering opportunities

We are currently seeking help with the following tasks:

Head Office

We are looking for somebody with a keen interest in geography, and who is computer literature, to assist our Head of Land and Property with updating our mapping procedure. We would be looking for somebody who is able to volunteer one day a week at our Shottesbrooke office. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, please email volunteers@landmarktrust.org.uk

Knowle Hill Landscaping

Plans are afoot for the landscape at Knowle Hill. If you live in the midlands and fancy getting your hands dirty please email us.

Volunteers for Crownhill Fort

We are recruiting volunteers to help with the following at Crownhill Fort:

•A tour guide for their monthly open days on the last Friday of each month and school visits which are held on weekdays during term time.

If you live locally and think you might be able to help please do get in touch via email.

Volunteers needed to help man Belmont Information Rooms

There is an information display about the history of Belmont and its past residents in the stables on the site (the house is not accessible). The stable opens from 2pm-5pm each Friday from 1 April to 31 October (providing volunteer cover is available).

We are very lucky to already have a small group of volunteers but we need more memebers of the team to help cover all Fridays throughout the season. Perhaps you are a student coming home for the summer and would like to add some volunteer hours to your CV which relate to History and Architecture or perhaps you are local and interested in sharing the story of Belmont with others. We would be delighted to have you in the team so do please email your interest via email.

PLEASE NOTE: Even if you have already registered with us to volunteer,  you still need to apply for volunteer vacancies as they appear if you are interested. (We are a small team and cannot follow up with individuals about specific openings). If you have signed up for the monthly Volunteer Email  this will alert you to any new volunteer positions posted on the website. Thank you.

Sign up for our Llywn Celyn Community History Project

It doesn’t matter whether you are an experienced researcher or a complete novice  – all you need is an interest in history and in finding our more about your lovely valley. We’d love existing members of the local history societies to come along as we know there has been much great work done already. This is a chance to stitch it all together. What we all discover will help us decide how best to restore and present the Llwyn Celyn site.

If you’d like to be part of the Llwyn Celyn History Project, please email to let us know via llwyncelyn@landmarktrust.org.uk and please spread the word.

Share your talents with us!

While our buildings speak for themselves, we love enriching our Open Days with additional activities – storytelling, music, dance, Living History, artworks, craft demonstrations….. If you have a talent you’d be willing to volunteer for an Open Day or belong to a group who would join in, please let us know via volunteers@landmarktrust.org.uk.
