Calverley Old Hall Crafting Cultures training videos

Thanks to funding from National Lottery Players, we have been able to produce some short training videos to share some of the traditional craft skills being used on site.

One of the Landmark Trust’s key aims as a charity is to promote the use of traditional craft skills in historic buildings. Landmark aims to inspire the next generation of craftspeople by promoting public access to these traditional methods of working wherever possible. With this in mind, we have produced a series of short training videos, each focused on a different craft skill, with the aim of teaching people about the importance of keeping these skills alive. The videos give an insight into the work we do on site, and are intended to provide guidance in some simple but helpful skills.

Historic Window Restoration at Calverley Old Hall

Many older houses still retain their traditional windows. In the first of our series of training videos, join Stuart Leavy, Regional Surveyor for the Landmark Trust as he reveals more about the importance of repairing historic windows and demonstrates how to replace a broken sash cord at our recent National Lottery Heritage Funded restoration project, Calverley Old Hall.
