We are opening this building in association with Heritage Open Days. Free entry, information on the building's history and children's activity sheets will be available on site.
For most of the 20th century, Dunshay Manor, near Harman's Cross, was home to a remarkable artistic family: George and Hilda Spencer Watson, and their daughter, renowned sculptor Mary Spencer Watson, who bequeathed the house to building preservation charity, the Landmark Trust. Newly restored and refurbished, this is a rare chance to see the house and find out more about the Spencer Watsons. Corfe Castle appears across the fields and the Swanage Steam Railway passes close by.
Whilst booking is not essential we would ask that you register for the event via Eventbrite so that we can provide you with updates regarding the event. Dogs are welcome at these open days.
Open Day entry
Due to the historic nature of our buildings we have a limited capacity for our Open Day events. You may therefore be asked to wait a short time while other visitors finish their visit. Whilst booking is not essential, priority will be given to those who have booked in advance. Thank you for your co-operation.
Accessibility
Parking for this event is in a nearby field. Please follow signage on arrival. The house is a few hundred metres walk down a rough track from the field. Visitors with limited mobility can be set down outside the house with cars then returned to the designated parking.
Toilet facilities are available for visitor use in the house.
Please note there is no lift to the first floor at this Landmark.
