50 For Free

Free short breaks in extraordinary places for charities

Applications are now closed

50 For Free offers fifty stays at Landmark properties for charities on behalf of their service users.

The stays offered as part of the 2024 scheme are midweek (four nights) and weekend (three nights) breaks 8-11 March or 11-15 March 2024. We have selected a range of Landmarks which will enable people with differing access needs to participate in the scheme. Landmarks available are spread throughout England, Wales, Scotland and even a trip by helicopter to the island of Lundy

Since 50 For Free launched ten years ago, Landmark has given over 3,386 people in need of a holiday, a moment of respite, valuable time with loved ones, or a break from everyday life in extraordinary places around the UK.

Applications for the 2024 50 For Free scheme closed on Tuesday 28 November 2023.

'To have such an opportunity as this for our members allows them to widen their views and their experience of the world and gives them something they could never otherwise have had in their lives. The Landmark Trust has changed the lives of our group in giving us such an opportunity.’

'Our service-users would be unable to have a holiday like this without The Landmark Trust and for them, it is something they remember and treasure for many years afterwards. In the short-term it gives them something to look forward to and enjoy and in the longer-term, it leaves them with added confidence and happy memories. The venues are near to home but a million miles away.'

In the realm of writing, inspiration can spring from unexpected places and life's challenging moments. For writer Cath Holland whose husband died of bowel cancer in 2019, grief was such an assault on her both physically and emotionally that her own creativity and imagination was stunted. Her personal story was too painful to write about. It was on a 50 For Free stay at The White House in Shropshire that Cath found the space and solace to write a new short story.
