Thanks to your support we are able to rescue threatened historic buildings and give them new life for people to experience and enjoy. There are many different ways you can help, from giving a one-off donation to monthly giving by Direct Debit, or getting closer to our work through one our supporter schemes. However you choose to give, every donation makes a real difference to buildings at risk.
RAF Ibsley Watch Office
RAF Ibsley Watch Office once played a crucial part in Britain’s fight against the dark forces of Hitler’s planned invasion. The building at the former Second World War airfield in the New Forest now stands derelict and in peril. From its runways, between 1941 and 1944, both RAF and USAAF airmen flew out into hostile skies to defend Britain with great courage and at huge personal cost. With your support, we aspire to save it from decay or demolition to be a through-provoking place for eight people to stay.
One of the largest and most notable 18th century houses in England, this Palladian mansion near Rotherham in South Yorkshire is set in an equally important landscape. Built by the Marquesses of Rockingham from 1730, the opulent exterior was matched by grand interiors and contents. Working in partnership with the Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust, who are restoring this large and important site, we hope to create a Landmark for two in the South Tower of the East Front. A fundraising appeal for the project will be launched in late 2024.
50 years after it almost burnt to the ground, a major grant from the National Heritage Memorial Fund means we can now begin rescuing one of the most important buildings at risk in Britain. This extraordinary house, just outside Edinburgh, was built by celebrated Scottish architect William Adam in 1723. The NHMF’s £5.3m grant will enable Landmark to pursue phase one of a rescue plan to acquire Mavisbank and see the crumbling building and pavilions stabilised before any more historic fabric falls away.
Lundy Fund
Lundy is an island which Landmark has the privileged responsibility of managing. Its position with the Atlantic Ocean to the west and the Bristol Channel to the east creates a unique combination of environmental conditions that support a variety of rare and spectacular wildlife. Lundy is home to an endemic cabbage, 200 Atlantic grey seals, the Southwest's largest seabird colony, historic monuments and much more. The island is protected under a number of UK and European designations.
We need your help to maintain the fragile balance between sustaining Lundy and welcoming visitors, whilst protecting its unblemished qualities and natural habitats.
Greener Landmark Fund
We believe heritage is part of the solution to the extraordinary challenges of climate change and are committed to continuing to play our part in tackling them. We have ambitious plans to make our work even more environmentally sustainable. With your support, we could achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2045 and halve our carbon emissions by 2037.
