Stephen Deuchar
Stephen Deuchar has a wide background in the UK arts and heritage sectors. After completing an art history PhD he became a curator at the National Maritime Museum before being appointed the first Director of Tate Britain (1998-2010) and subsequently Director of the Art Fund. Here he introduced the National Art Pass and significantly expanded the charity’s membership, fundraising and grant giving programmes.
He was knighted in 2021, is a Deputy Lieutenant of Kent and is also a trustee of Royal Museums Greenwich, Creative Folkestone and Turner Contemporary.
