The Gothic Temple is a splendid, historic folly built in the gardens at Stowe in 1741. Inside, the rooms are all circular with the main vault of the central space painted with heraldry and to be on the first-floor gallery is an important architectural experience.
Whilst booking is not essential we would ask that you register for the event via Eventbrite so that we can provide you with updates regarding the event.
Please note that whilst entrance to the Temple is free, entrance charges to Stowe Landscape Gardens for non-National Trust members do still apply. Please check their website for more details.
If using Sat-Nav, please follow postcode: MK18 5EQ. This will take you to the parking which is situated at the New Inn NT Stowe. The walk from the car park to the Gothic Temple is quite long and so if you have limited mobility there is an option to rent a mobility buggy from the National Trust. You can find more details here.
As a charity, the Landmark Trust relies on donations to support our work. We couldn’t have rescued over 200 Landmarks without the support of people like you. Your support saves historic buildings in danger of being lost forever and makes them available for all to experience and enjoy. Your donation could help train the craftspeople needed to restore buildings like this, or it could offer opportunities to young people to experience history firsthand, through our open days and free stays for study groups. We would be delighted if you felt able to add a gift to your booking today. We can’t wait to stay in touch and show you the difference your support has made. Thank you!
