What's On

Welsh LEGO Landmarks with Bricks McGee

Saturday 6 June, 10am-2pm, Threshing Barn

Drop in and play with thousands of LEGO bricks and Bricks McGee master builder, Jenny - build local landmarks from LEGO bricks in a rainbow of colours from your imagination. We'll be taking inspiration from Welsh landmarks to create your own towers, castles and forts.

Get hands on with our activity, open to join at any time between 10am - 2pm in the Threshing Barn - fun for all ages 4+! Children must be accompanied during this activity.

LEGO is a trademark of the LEGO Group who do not authorise or endorse this event. Sorry, you can't take any bricks home - stay and play with us!

Please note the LEGO workshop takes place on Saturday only, and the doors will open at 10am.

About Llwyn Celyn

Llwyn Celyn is a Grade I listed medieval building. Once part of the Llanthony Priory estate it was built in the late 15th century. Llwyn Celyn sits on a hillside at the mouth of the Llanthony Valley, a few miles from the ruins of the priory. The valley has for centuries attracted poets, artist and romantics and witnessed the struggles between English and Welsh rule. Our project has not just saved the site, but also tells its history - the story of the people who inhabited it during times of political upheaval and agricultural change.

Information on the buildings history and children's activity sheets will be available in English and Welsh.

Refreshments

Enjoy the Threshing Barn on site with hot drinks and seating areas available for a donation towards the work of the Landmark Trust. We do not offer food at Open Days, but visitors are also welcome to bring their own picnic to have in the Threshing Barn or outside areas.

Donating to Landmark as part of your visit

We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to visit a Landmark for free as part of our Open Day programme, and as such we’re pleased to continue to offer free entry at all our Open Days in 2026.

The Landmark Trust is a building conservation charity that relies on donations to support its work. Over the past 60 years, public support has helped us rescue over 200 historic buildings and make them available for all to experience and enjoy. Your support by attending our events, booking a workshop, and making a donation allows us to continue to save buildings at risk and continue to maintain those already in our care. Your donation could help train the craftspeople needed to restore a future Landmark, offer opportunities for young people to experience history first-hand, or provide a charity with free Landmark stay for their service users through our 50 for Free scheme.

Donations can be made when you book your Eventbrite ticket, at the event via contactless donation points, or after your visit via our website under Support.
