The opening day at Llwyn Celyn

Only possible thanks to our supporters

Llwyn Celyn near Abergavenny opened its doors in October 2018 after more than two years of complex restoration work.

The rescue of this exceptionally important and special place is one of the largest and most ambitious restoration projects we have ever undertaken.

The house, with its fine medieval features and glorious views of the Skirrid mountain, is now a comfortable Landmark for eight people, while the Threshing Barn offers a much-needed community venue and bunkhouse, and the interpretation space in the Beast House tells the story of Llwyn Celyn and the Llanthony Valley.

In this short video we share key moments from the opening celebration, a day blessed with clear blue skies and warm October sunshine.
