Our top tips for booking

Several national newspapers recently pondered whether Clavell Tower is “Britain’s most booked-up hotel room.” Although we always have buildings available to book on any given weekday or weekend throughout the entire year, it’s true that a handful of Landmarks get snapped up very quickly. We want as many people as possible to enjoy our myriad buildings, so we have put together some tips to give you the best chance of booking your desired Landmark.

1) Sign up to our email newsletters

Sign up to our monthly email newsletter and be the first to hear about our latest news, special offers and booking release dates.  If you’re looking for a last minute escape, we also send out a monthly late availability email rounding up available Landmarks for the coming month. Every few months we get cancellations for our most-coveted places like for Astley Castle or Belmont, and we tend to promote them in these late-availability emails.

2) Become a Friend or Patron for priority booking privileges

Beat the crowds and receive priority booking privileges when becoming a Friend or Patron of Landmark. Dates for the second half of 2019 for our five most popular buildings will be released to Patrons on 20 February and to Friends on 24 February. Bookings for Llwyn Celyn, a medieval hall-house opening in early autumn, will be released to Patrons online on 26 June and to Friends on 2 July.

In addition to priority bookings, Friends receive free merchandise, invitations to special events, house share opportunities and an exclusive newsletter for £48 a year (if paid by Direct Debit).

Landmark Patrons play a crucial role in our work, providing us with vital funds that make a real difference to what we can achieve. Benefits include site visits to see first-hand how we restore our buildings, an opportunity to meet our Director at the annual Patrons’ lunch and bespoke updates about Landmark’s work.

3) Follow us on social media

Occasionally, we’ll receive cancellations for some of our more sought out properties like Clavell Tower . We’ll always post about these on our social media channels so make sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for booking alerts.

4) View our special breaks section for cheaper getaways

Prices for our buildings will vary throughout the year. Breaks can be booked for as little as £9 per person per night in off-season periods such as January and December. Visit our best value Landmarks page for our cheapest holidays throughout 2018.

5) Don't give up

When we first launch a building e.g. as we did in 2015 with the wonderful Belmont in Lyme Regis, it tends to get very booked up in the first year or so as people are super-keen to experience it. After a while demand typically eases off and it becomes easier to book a break. The Birdhouse, for example, was very popular initially, yet now there are several slots at this romantic Shropshire pavilion during 2018 and 2019.
