UK Pre-Employment Checks
Pre-employment checks apply to all applicants regardless of the vacancy for which they are applying and must be carried out before any offer of employment is made.Suitable references are required as an element of our employment process, we will seek references at the offer stage. We will not be able to confirm employment until these are provided before or during probation.
Identity and Right to Work in the UK
As part of the recruitment and selection process all applicants will be required to produce verification documentation at the time of their interview. This is to ensure that the individual’s identity is verified and that they have the right to work in the UK. Candidates will be asked to produce the following pieces of original identification documentation.
• A Passport – in date – showing the holder is a British citizen or a citizen of the UK and Colonies having the right of abode in the UK.
• A full birth or adoption certificate issued in the UK, which includes the name(s) of at least one of the applicant’s parents AND an official document giving the person’s permanent National Insurance number and their name issued by a Government agency (eg HMRC, Department for Work and Pensions) or a previous employer.
European Economic Area nationals will be asked to produce either a national passport or national identity card which indicates that the holder is a national of an EEA state or a permanent residence card issued by the Home Office.
Please note additional evidence may be required from Students undertaking employment or work placements.
Unfortunately, individuals who are unable to provide identification will be unable to secure employment with the Landmark Trust.
