Trustees

 

Neil Mendoza - Chairman

Neil Mendoza was appointed a trustee of the Landmark Trust in 2010. In his career he has worked in banking, film, publishing and marketing. He was co-founder of Forward, a publishing services company, now part of WPP. He is Chairman of Victoria Capital, a wealth management company. He is a trustee of the Shakespeare Schools Festival and the Soho Theatre.

 

Malcolm Airs

Malcolm Airs was appointed a trustee of the Landmark Trust in 2007. He recently retired as Professor of Conservation and the Historic Environment at the University of Oxford and is now Vice-President of Kellogg College, Oxford. He has served on the advisory committees of English Heritage, the Heritage Lottery Fund and the National Trust, and is a trustee of the Oxford Preservation Trust.

  

Alec Hamilton

Alec Hamilton was appointed a trustee of the Landmark Trust in 2002. His first contact with Landmark was as a Landmarker in 1980s, then as a Friend in the 1990s. He worked in advertising and marketing as a copywriter and Creative Director, specialising in financial and charity clients, and in management consultancy. He was Chairman of Hamilton Wright until 1995. He is now researching a DPhil on Arts and Crafts architecture and is a trustee of the Friends of Friendless Churches.


Sir Laurie Magnus

Sir Laurie Magnus was appointed a trustee of the Landmark Trust in 2011. He has been Deputy Chairman of The National Trust since 2005 and previously chaired its Finance Committee. He has worked in the investment banking industry for over thirty years, specialising in corporate financial advice, and is currently Chairman of Lexicon Partners. He is a non-executive director of three investment trusts, Deputy Chairman of the Windsor Leadership Trust and a trustee of B-eat.

 

Charles McVeigh, III

Charles McVeigh was appointed a trustee of the Landmark Trust in 2010.  He is Chairman of Citigroup’s Investment Bank-Private Bank Partnership.

He was formerly a member of the Fulbright Commission and presently serves on the Boards of EFG-Hermes, Savills plc and Petropavlovsk plc.  He is also a Governor of St Mary’s School Shaftesbury and a former member of both the Development Board and Advisory Council of the Prince’s Trust.  He has formerly served as President of the American Chamber of Commerce; on the Boards of the LSE, LIFFE, Witan Investment Company plc, Clearstream and was appointed by the Bank of England to serve on the City Capital Markets Committee and the Legal Risk Review Committee. 

 

Martin Stancliffe MA FSA Dip Arch RIBA

Martin Stancliffe was appointed a trustee of the Landmark Trust in 2011. He was Surveyor to the Fabric of St Paul’s Cathedral between 1990 and 2011, and is a senior partner of Purcell Miller Tritton. During 30 years as director of his own architectural practice in York he was architect to a number of Landmarks. He is chairman of the York Consortium for Conservation and Craftsmanship, a trustee of York Civic Trust, and a member of the ICOMOS Cultural Tourism Committee.

 

Sir John de Trafford Bt, MBE

Sir John de Trafford was appointed a trustee of the Landmark Trust in 2006. His business roles have included Regional President, Northern Europe for American Express and Sales & Marketing Director for Thistle Hotels. He retains two non-executive directorships and is also a trustee of The National Benevolent Fund for the Aged.

Anna Keay

Anna Keay will become the Director of the Landmark Trust in July 2012 following two years as a Trustee.  Anna is a historian and curator, with a specialist interest in 17th-century British history. She has worked for English Heritage since 2002 where, as Curatorial Director, she was responsible for the presentation of its historic properties, collections and public archive.
