Near Bridgnorth, Shropshire

Bush Cottage near Bridgnorth in Shropshire is a charming timber-framed cottage, probably dating from around 1800. It has generously been offered to us as a gift by one of our supporters, who rescued it from dereliction in 1999 after 40 years of neglect, and restored it to Landmark’s own exacting conservation standards. The owner now wishes to see the cottage's special qualities protected, and for it to be enjoyed by others. Bush Cottage is likely to come into our care in early 2012.
Bush Cottage lies in a wonderfully peaceful setting, tucked into a crook of remote woodland facing gently rolling fields. It will provide a perfect escape into unspoilt Shropshire countryside, with nothing to intrude on your quiet enjoyment except the occasional tractor. There is now the process of formal acquisition to be followed, and of researching and preparing the building as a Landmark (although there is likely to be little more to do beyond furnishing).
We hope to confirm an opening date in 2012 soon.
