To ensure the widest possible choice of Landmarks we recommend early booking. However, there are still opportunities to enjoy a Landmark over the coming weeks, whether you are looking for a long or short break.

Cul-na-Shee, meaning 'nook of peace' in Gaelic, is situated within a minute bay, backed by steep woods on the Saddell Estate. It is reached by a path along the beach, overlooked by no other building and with just the sea and Arran to look at.

The gothic summerhouse and the cottage behind, is all that survives of a most curious house built on the side of a ravine in about 1698. It opens on to a sunny lawn, with a view into the woods beyond.

Built in 1520, this house is timber framed and roofed in thick Horsham stone, with views across the valley to the Ashdown Forest from the exceptional garden, originally known as a portland, some 630 feet long.

A picturesque medieval timber-framed building with elaborate pargeting, a distinctive form of vernacular architecture in East Anglia, that bears the date '1473'. Situated in an unspoilt market town, this house incorporates a handsome moulded timber ceiling and elaborately carved oriel windows.

The Music Room, Lancaster

The Music Room

Sun Street, Lancaster

Built in about 1730, the Music Room it seems, was originally a garden pavilion. The Music Room contains an exceptional Baroque interior and the plasterwork took over 6,000 hours of work to repair.

Crownhill Fort, Devon

Built in the 1860's to protect Plymouth from attack by land and sea, it is one of only two large works of its kind surviving in good condition in the country. You stay in the Officers' Quarters and have a free run of the Fort once the gates close for the evening.

Designed in about 1815 by Jeffrey Wyatville this is an early, and wonderfully well-made, example of the nineteenth-century passion for the Alps. Swiss Cottage is situated within the ornamental gardens of Endsleigh and commands magnificent views of the River Tamar.

The imposing façade of this building dates to 1752 and was nearly all that remained for two centuries. New rooms were constructed in a Classical style for Landmark.

Freston Tower is a six-storey Tudor folly that looks out over the River Orwell. Built in about 1550, of red brick with a distinctive blue brick diapering pattern, it stands in the grounds of Freston House, just south of Ipswich. There is a single room on each floor.

Silverton Park Stables, DevonSilverton Park Stables

This Grade II listed quadrangular stable block was commissioned in the mid 19th century by the 4th Earl of Egremont. Set within an historic parkland, and built around a sunny courtyard, it is a welcoming and evocative place.
