Bath
The historic city of Bath is a fascinating place to explore, and is also one of Britain's World Heritage Sites. Easy access from London (1.5 hours on the train) or Birmingham (just 2 hours).
Elton House and Marshal Wade's House are within the centre of Bath, and Beckford's Tower is just a short bus ride north.

Caernarfon
The Bath Tower occupies an enviable position in the county town of Caernarfon, and the roof terrace offers a fine view of Anglesey over the Menai Strait. Caernarfon is around a 25 minutes bus ride from Bangor, which itself is on the main trainline between London and Holyhead.

Cawood
Perhaps unexpectedly, Cawood has very good bus links. Regular bus services run from York (40 mins) and Selby (20 mins). The village itself, the former residence of the Archbishops of York, has history of its own worthy of exploration.

Chipping Campden
Nestled in the Cotswolds, the market town of Chipping Campden is accessible by a picturesque bus ride from Honeybourne or Moreton-in-Marsh station (which itself is just under 2 hours from London). Once there the Cotswolds offer many walks for the active, or the chance to simply exist in a beautiful setting to those not.

Cowden
Set beside a small stream in a woodland clearing, solitary Hole Cottage is a pleasant 15 minute walk from Cowden railway station. Regular trains from London take just over an hour. Once there, the trees enclose it, and you may enjoy a sleepy fire, the smell of its smoke and the sound of the stream.

Lancaster
Lancaster is only 2.5 hours from London on a direct train, and the station is just a short walk away. The Music Room is perfectly situated close to the centre and the small roof terrace has a wonderful view across the town.

Cloth Fair and Princelet Street have to be amongst the easiest Landmarks for public transport, both close to underground stations.
Hampton Court Palace with its Landmarks of Fish Court and The Georgian House are far enough away to escape the hustle and bustle, but the West End is still only half an hour away.

Lympstone
For those willing to live vertically, there is novel accomodation within this brick clock tower in Lympstone, just a 30 minute train ride south from Exeter. The South West Coast Path passes through nearby Exmouth, where the impressive Jurassic Coast begins. Also close by, the National Trust's A La Ronde is well worth a visit.

Oxford
The Steward's House is close by to Oxford railway station and surrounded by the sites and sounds of the university. For a more sedate place to stay, The Old Parsonage, Iffley, is around 2 miles walk along the river or a short bus ride south.

Penzance
The three apartments of The Egyptian House in Penzance are easily reached by train and once there, good bus services exist to enable you to travel around the coastline and to explore all the way to St Ives and Land's End.

The Grange is set just above the promenade in Ramsgate, and a short taxi ride from the railway station. Regular trains from London take just under two hours, or arrive by ferry from Ostend.

Tewkesbury
The ancient and exceptional town of Tewkesbury is set between the Malvern and Cotswold hills, with all they have to offer. The two properties of Abbey Gatehouse and St Mary's Lane are easily reachable from Ashchurch railway station (by bus, around 10 mins) or from Cheltenham Spa (around 30 mins).
