The Captain's House

Lower Porthmeor is a farm hamlet, typical of the area of West Penwith where sometimes as many as four houses are grouped around a single farm. The Captain's House dates from the 1840s, has a massive kitchen fireplace and a snug parlour. It is a short walk from here across the fields to where a little valley cuts through the cliffs to form a rocky bay.

The Farmhouse

Lower Porthmeor is a farm hamlet, typical of the area of West Penwith where sometimes as many as four houses are grouped around a single farm. Built around 1800, the Farmhouse has a handsome front of granite ashlar, paid for perhaps with money from the tin stamps nearby. It is a short walk from here across the fields to where a little valley cuts through the cliffs to form a rocky bay.
